Reliance Jio SIM from early Lyf handsets now works on any 4G phone

Reliance Jio recently extended Jio Lyf Preview 90-day offer till August 31st for early buyers who had got unlimited data, calls and messages along with the Lyf phone in the month of May. The Reliance Jio SIM was locked to the particular Lyf handset, now the company have started unlocking the SIM for those early users who got extension so that they can use it on any 4G handset.

We tried Jio SIM from Lyf Water 1 smartphone that recently got Jio Lyf Preview extension, and data and called worked fine on iPhone SE and other 4G handsets. This however did not work on another Lyf handset that did not get the preview offer extension but other early Lyf customers are expected to get the extension soon, according to Telecom Talk.

Jio is expected to make a major announcement on August 15 and this new move could be behind it. The only other way to get Jio SIM currently is through the Samsung Preview offer.

RIL’s Chairman Mukesh Ambanirecently said that Jio now has over 15 lakh trial users and the trial will be progressively upgraded into commercial operations in the coming months. Jio will have half-a-million activation outlets and close to a million recharge outlets at launch.Read More
